FERNER & KREUZER conduct whole swarms of hybrid entities with a fine brush.
The boundaries between humans and animals are colourfully painted over and are allowed to dissolve with a wink.
The animated being is at the centre of the artist couple's grand narrative.
As if you had always been there, and had only not revealed yourself due to our limited perception.
When groups of pandas settle at Golling Waterfall,
when Ziggy Stardust appears in the stardust,
when empathetic portraits gaze deeply into the viewer's eyes,
when the transformation of Little Red Riding Hood becomes visible in the pine forest…
...then you find yourself in the magical universe of MICHAEL FERNER and MARTINA KREUZER, who seem to take everything seriously except themselves.
